Silk satin is a noble and elegant material, which expresses refinement and needs to be carefully maintained.
All our lingerie is designed by our team in our workshop in Villeurbanne, near Lyon, France. For our nightwear, we use a 19-mommes silk satin for a large proportion of our lingerie-to-wear creations. This is a precious silk of the highest quality, rarely used in lingerie because of its high cost, but its thickness offers sublime softness and suppleness for an unbeatable fit that you won't want to do without.
To keep your Marjolaine pieces for as long as possible, we recommend that you look after them with care and always wash them cold.
Step 1 : washing
Be careful not to leave your lingerie to soak for too long to prevent it from bleeding and losing all the intensity of its colour.
Also choose a natural, non-aggressive liquid detergent.
Don't mix colours, especially when washing your garment for the first time.
Machine washing is possible, but certain conditions must be met: use the "hand wash in cold water" programme and wash your garment with other items to prevent the machine drum from damaging it. If you don't have such a programme on your machine, don't risk damaging it and opt for hand washing.
Step 2 : drying
Dry your garment without wringing it.
We recommend carefully wrapping your item in a towel and pressing gently to remove excess water before drying. Then hang your item on a hanger in the open air, away from direct sunlight which could cause it to lose its colours.
Step 3 : ironing
Iron your garment while it is still slightly damp so that you don't have to use the steam on your iron on the reverse side. Set your iron to a low temperature and don't use steam, as silk and heat don't mix!
